The Leostream platform integrates with FSLogix with its use of Registry Plans, which allow administrators to manage Registry Keys directly through the Leostream admin interface. This integration enables admins to adjust FSLogix settings based on specific Leostream locations allowing for more individualized focus to user profiles as needed.
Step 1: Download and Install FSLogix on the Desktop
Download FSLogix:
Visit the following link to download the latest FSLogix software: FSLogix Download.
Install FSLogix:
Extract the downloaded zip file.
Select the appropriate bit architecture for your machine (32-bit or 64-bit).
Navigate to the ‘Release’ folder and run FSLogixAppsSetup.exe.
Follow the prompts in the installation wizard until the installation is complete.
Note: This machine can now serve as a template or master image for FSLogix desktops.
Step 2: Create a Shared Folder on the Windows Server
Windows Server:
Open File Explorer and navigate to the desired location.
Right-click in the folder or directory, select New, and then choose Folder.
Name the folder appropriately (e.g., FSLogixProfiles).
Set Up Sharing:
Right-click on the newly created folder and select Properties.
Navigate to the Sharing tab.
Click on the Share… button.
In the File Sharing dialog, add the users or groups that need access. You can also choose Everyone if all users will require access.
Set the permission level to Read/Write.
Click Share and then Done.
Set Advanced Sharing (Optional):
If you need to set specific permissions:
In the Sharing tab, click on Advanced Sharing….
Check the box for Share this folder.
Click on Permissions to customize access rights.
Ensure the appropriate permissions (e.g., Change for read/write access) are granted to the intended users or groups.
Click OK to close the permissions window, and then click OK again to close the Advanced Sharing window.
Configure Security Settings:
Switch to the Security tab in the folder properties.
Verify that the users or groups you shared with have the necessary permissions (e.g., Modify, Read & execute).
If needed, click Edit to adjust permissions.
Note the Network Path:
Make a note of the folder’s network path. It will typically be in the format \\<Server Name>\<Share Name>. For example, if your server is named FileServer and the shared folder is FSLogixProfiles, the path will be \\FileServer\FSLogixProfiles.
Important Considerations:
Verify that the users can access the shared folder by testing it from the intended desktop (e.g., Connecting to the server using: smb:\\<Server Name>\<Share Name>).
Step 3: Configure the Registry Plan in Leostream
